Lintuja ja kukkia/ Birds and flowers

Olen minä tehnyt täkkejä ihan valmiiksikin. Esimerkiksi alla olevan Lintuja ja kukkia.

Vuosia sitten ostin lintu- ja kukkatilkut Vassuskasta* vanhempaa poikaani varten, joka silloin oli muistaakseni parivuotias. Jo silloin haaveilin tilkkutöistä. Sitten kun opin tekemään tilkkutöitä, lapseni oli aivan liian vanha välittääkseen enää lintu- ja kukkatilkuista. Niinpä annoin kuusi vuotta sitten tekemäni täkin nuoremmalle pojalleni, joka on pitänyt täkistään tähän asti. Suunnittelen kuitenkin hänelle jo uutta täkkiä hänen itse valitsemistaan kankaista.

Of course, I have finished some of my patchworks. For example Birds and Flowers (below).

Years ago, I bought some bird and flower patches from Vassuska* for my 2-year-old son. It was already then that I had started dreaming of making patchworks. During the following years I gradually started learning how to quilt. By the time I finally started the project; my oldest son had grown too old for the birds and flowers theme, so I decided to give Birds and Flowers to my younger son. At the moment I am designing a new one for the younger one and he himself has chosen the fabrics for the project.

(Thank you, K, my good fairy godmother. :) I wish I always had a fairy godmother on my shoulder telling, if I had mistaken with my English.)
